Join multi award winning performer and theatre maker Katie Tranter (The Great Divinator, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, The Magician's Table) for an intensive two day deep dive into the theatrical realms of clown and mime.Katie is a second generation student of Marcel Marceau.

This workshop covers a broad range of materials and techniques to support you in developing and honing your performance skills including:

★ How to be fully present onstage

★ How to connect to any audience

★ Turning problems and interruptions into comedy gold

★ Physical storytelling

★ Precision and expression through the body

Please wear comfortable clothes, bring a bottle of water and be ready to be physically active.Who is this workshop for?It is for actors, clowns, puppeteers, magicians, cabaret performers, improvisers, writers, directors, circus artists, physical performers, dancers, musicians, visual artists, street performers, storytellers, and anyone who would like to engage and channel their full power as a performer onstage.All exercises will be tailored to the participants' needs and everyone will have to opportunity to work both individually and in groups with allocated time for reflection and feedback.This workshop is guaranteed to supercharge your creative practice!

About the Facilitator:Katie Tranter is an award-winning actor, musician, puppeteer, clown and magician. Her recent credits include Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Paramount), Doctor Who (BBC) and Cinderella: A Fairytale (Northern Stage).She is a member of the Magic Circle and currently appears in multiple roles in The Magician's Table (West End).


Her solo show The Great Divinator: Touched by Spirits has won several awards and accolades including:

Katie has taught clown and mime for Funny Women South West, Bristol Clown School, Circus Central, Play Festival and Exeter University as well as her own independent workshops for the last 12 years.


Katie trained at Exeter University, National Youth Theatre and Escuela Nouveau Colombier specialising in mime.
She has also trained with Philippe Gaulier, Phillip Zarrilli, Denise Perdikidis (Tantztheater Wuppertal), Avner Eisenberg, John Wright, Alex Coehlo, Nola Rae, Peta Lily, Jose Piris, Arturo Bernal and Diana Bernedo.
