Title* ⏵ Brand/Night Optional brand or night name to link to other events under the same name Description* This workshop will ideally help you find your freedom and ridiculousness on stage and connect more deeply with an audience. Please note – this workshop can be quite difficult at times. In addition to encouraging things you do on stage that are working, Dr. Brown is also there to point out when something is NOT working. With the acceptance of failure, you can learn to be more open and vulnerable in front of a group of strangers. If you do not respond positively to admitting failure, this workshop may not be for you. When you are ready to LAUGH at your failure, the work can begin. This and your sensitivity to an audience, will help expose how stupid and ridiculous you (and only you) can be. Who is Dr. Brown Dr. Brown (aka Philip Burgers) learned about comedy and silliness at the Ecole Philippe Gaulier. Since then, has travelled and toured solo and kids shows around the world and has worked in TV and film as a director, writer and actor. He has been teaching clown workshops all over the world since 2009. His 2012 solo show 'Befrdgth', won The Edinburgh Comedy Award and The Barry Award for Best Comedy at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Burgers can be seen in Netflix's 'The Characters' and 'Feel Good' and in UK Channel 4's 'Dr Brown Comedy Blaps' and '4funnies'. He wrote and starred in the multi-award-winning short film 'The Passage'. He also directed the Netflix Comedy Special, 'Nate' and ran the Los Angeles theatre, 'The Lyric Hyperion' from 2016-2020.
